Olivia Ray
Olivia Ray studied at the RNCM, English National Opera’s The Knack, and GSMD, receiving a fellowship to Aspen, Colorado, to study with Susanne Mentzer.
Operatic roles include Lady Spencer in the world premiere of Georgiana (Buxton International Festival); Emelia Otello, Anna Politkovskaya Litvinenko, Gertrude Roméo et Juliette, Flora La traviata, Enrichetta di Francia I puritani, Soeur Mathilde Dialogues des Carmélites (Grange Park Opera); Mrs Noye Noyes Fludde (London Philharmonic Orchestra); Alisa Lucia di Lammermoor, Curra La forza del destino, Mrs Fox Fantastic Mr Fox, Suzy/Lolette La rondine (Opera Holland Park); Juno Orpheus in the Underworld, Olga Eugene Onegin (Scottish Opera); and Rosina The Barber of Seville (Stanley Hall Opera).
In concert and recital highlights include, Mulier Samaritana in Mahler Symphony No.8 (Royal Festival Hall, Cheltenham Music Festival); Mahler Symphony No.2 (Slaithwaite Philharmonic Orchestra); Rossini Petite messe solennelle (Three Choirs Festival); Tippett A Child of Our Time (Oxford Harmonic Choir); Elgar The Apostles (Gloucester Choral Society/Philharmonia Orchestra); recitals of Gustav and Alma Mahler songs (ASPECT Foundation), Ravel and Satie songs (MusicUpClose), and appearances with Natalie Clein (Purbeck International Chamber Music Festival).
