In 2025…
Visionary Australian mezzo Lotte Betts-Dean was joined in St. Laurence’s church by her father, the internationally acclaimed composer and violist Brett Dean, for a programme of music about living life to the fullest; and rising star, British baritone Andrew Hamilton returned to the UK for the Weekend, after honing his craft in Munich.
We celebrated A.E.Housman, author of ‘A Shropshire Lad’ and inspiration to generations of English composers, in a special performance devised by Iain Burnside, with the help of Olivier-award winning actor Alex Jennings. We welcomed Dame Janet Baker for a very special live conversation, and Dame Ann Murray led our masterclass. There was early music from Mhairi Lawson and Paula Chateauneuf and brand new songs from three of our Young Composers: Archie John, Alex Papp and Hannah Lam.
