Bath Camerata

Bath Camerata
Choir

Recognised for its virtuosity and versatility, Bath Camerata appears at major venues throughout the UK and abroad and has won several prizes, including BBC Adult Choir of the Year. The choir has performed with some of the world’s leading artists, including The Three Tenors, The Tallis Scholars, I Fagiolini, Britten Sinfonia, Joanna MacGregor, Paco Peña and Brian Eno, and has collaborated with English Touring Opera and Ballet Rambert. Bath Camerata has made a number of television appearances, most recently with Roderick Williams for Lucy Worsley: Elizabeth I’s Battle for God’s Music on BBC4. To mark its 30th anniversary, Bath Camerata commissioned three new works by Will Todd, Roderick Williams and Owain Park, which were premiered at its annual Good Friday concert in Wells Cathedral last year. Two of these works feature on the choir’s new CD of British contemporary music, Songs of Renewal, released by Somm Recordings.

Since Benjamin Goodson’s appointment as musical director in 2015, Bath Camerata has attracted excellent new singers, reached new audiences, and pursued exciting new repertoire. Benjamin is focused on creating innovative performances of both period and contemporary works to further Bath Camerata’s reputation as one of the UK’s foremost chamber choirs.
